Two weeks in the Queen City provides plenty of time to access what Charlotte and the surrounding areas have to offer. In that time, a visitor may become considered a local.

History Lesson: Charlotte was named after Queen Charlotte of Mecklenburg, under King George III. The county in which Charlotte lies: Mecklenburg.

Many fans spend the entire two-week home stand in their RVs for one supersized NASCAR vacation. But between the All-Star events and one of the sport's crown jewels, the Coca-Cola 600 on May 25, Charlotte specializes in offering something for everyone.

Want a lesson on culture or religion? Need to take the kids to an unforgettable opportunity of learning and fun all in one? Trying to get out of the camper to enjoy the outdoors a little more? Or do you just want to go where the drivers go?

In two weeks, a visitor can do it all.

U.S. National Whitewater Center -- It's still a little early temperature-wise to have this as a cooling-off period, but it's the best thing going in Charlotte. The U.S. National Whitewater Center houses the world's largest artificial whitewater river and is not only limited to putting boat to water. It also features mountain biking, hiking trails, a climbing center and a ropes course. But make no mistake -- this isn't a stop-and-visit place. It's an all-day adventure.
