WELCOME, N.C. -- Stephen Leicht will join Jeff Burton as the co-driver of Richard Childress Racing's No. 29 Chevrolet for the 2009 Nationwide Series season.

Leicht, 21, has run a part-time Nationwide Series schedule for RCR this year after earning his first career series victory and finishing seventh in the point standings during his rookie season in 2007.

A native of Asheville, N.C., Leicht has two top-10 finishes in four starts this season driving RCR's No. 21 Chevrolet, including a seventh-place showing at Phoenix.

The No. 29 team won the series' owner points championship in 2007 with drivers Burton and Scott Wimmer. The tandem is currently fourth in this season's owner point standings with one win, five top-five and 15 top-10 finishes.
