France Kennedy honored by Daytona Chamber

Lesa France Kennedy, president of International Speedway Corp., received the Lou Fuchs Award on Wednesday from the Daytona Beach/Halifax Area Chamber of Commerce.

The award is named for a champion of the local tourism industry who organized an effort to prevent weekend closings of gas stations during the oil embargo of the 1970s.

Kennedy, daughter of the late William C. France Jr., also is the vice president and assistant treasurer of NASCAR.
